The Cornish Pasty By Numbers
- In 2005, 5,700 tonnes of potatoes, 5,200 tonnes of beef, 310 tonnes of onions and 1,550 tonnes of swede were produced by Cornish farms for the Cornish pasty industry.

Source: Crantock Bakery. - Although there is no official world record for the largest pasty, in 1985 a group of Young Farmers in Cornwall spent seven hours making a pasty 32ft 11ins (9.8m) long. It used 40lb of pastry, and was filled with 20lb of potatoes and 15lb each of beef, onions and turnips. It was baked in four sections in a specially-constructed oven.
This was believed to have been beaten in 1999 when bakers in Falmouth made their own giant pasty during the town's first ever pasty festival.
